Active Release Technique

ART is a patented soft tissue therapy designed to target problems with muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia, and nerves. Developed by Dr. Michael Leahy, ART aims to address adhesions—areas where scar tissue builds up, often due to overuse or injury. These adhesions can restrict movement, cause pain, and even compress nerves.

ART involves a hands-on approach, where the practitioner uses their hands to evaluate the texture, tension, and movement of your soft tissues. Once an area of dysfunction is identified, they apply targeted pressure while guiding you through specific movements to break up scar tissue and improve mobility.

Myofascial release

Myofascial release is a hands-on therapy designed to address restrictions in the fascia. The fascia is a continuous web of connective tissue that surrounds and supports your muscles, bones, nerves, and organs. When the fascia becomes tight or develops adhesions due to injury, overuse, or stress, it can cause pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility.

MFR involves applying gentle, sustained pressure to areas of restriction, allowing the fascia to stretch and release. Unlike other techniques that focus solely on muscles, MFR works to restore balance and flexibility throughout the entire fascial system.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy is a form of manual therapy that focuses on identifying and treating trigger points, nerve entrapments, and areas of soft tissue dysfunction. The technique uses precise pressure and manipulation to address imbalances between the muscular and nervous systems. By correcting these issues, NMT helps reduce pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall performance.

Graston/IASTM

Both Graston and IASTM are innovative manual therapy methods that utilize specially designed instruments to treat soft tissue restrictions and adhesions. These tools enable therapists to detect and break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions caused by injury, overuse, or surgery. These methods promote healing by improving blood flow, reducing inflammation, and enhancing tissue mobility.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a targeted therapy designed to alleviate muscle stiffness, reduce tension, and promote healing. Unlike traditional relaxation massage, this technique uses slow, firm pressure to reach the deeper layers of muscle and fascia. It’s particularly effective for addressing chronic pain, postural issues, and areas of persistent tightness caused by stress, injury, or overuse.
